Keyless Entry
Many of today's vehicles come equipped with keyless entry systems. These systems allow access to your vehicle without using your key. The system consists of one or two remote transmitters that are programmed to your vehicles computer system.
If your vehicle is equipped with a remote vehicle starting system your keyless entry transmitter is a key component to that system. Remote start system transmitters have a range of up to 300 feet.
These transmitters contain small batteries that over time can become weak and discharged. Normally you can open the remote transmitter and install a new battery and your transmitter will regain all of its functions and broadcast range.
You must use care when installing the batteries as the circuit boards are very delicate and can be damaged easily.
We can test the transmitters functions at our parts department. We have many of the typical batteries used on KIA and General Motors vehicles.
If your keyless entry remote transmitter needs to be replaced we can obtain a new one for you and program the transmitter to your vehicle. If you purchase the transmitter through our parts department there is usually a $50.00 charge to program it to you vehicle.
